Viridarium garden design was set up in Scotland in 2000, and is led by Douglas Coltart. Based upon his extensive experience in garden design, Viridarium will undertake design commissions ranging from domestic garden design to the formulation of parkland regeneration plans. Specialisms include the design of larger gardens and small-scale public open spaces.

Douglas has been guest designer on several television programmes and within many publications.  His first book entitled Design and Renovation of Larger Gardens was published in 2007 to critical acclaim. View Books >>

Douglas has received several awards for garden design; these include two Royal Horticultural Society gold medals at Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows.
